Keep your due dates in Google Calendar
Your due dates go to a Ring List calendar in Google. Move, rename or delete an event there and the task changes too, with Undo in Ring List.
You need: Google Calendar connected to Ring List first.
In Ring List: turn it on

- Open Settings › Plan, and under Calendar tick Keep your due dates in Google Calendar.
- Google’s page opens once more, asking to let Ring List make calendars of its own. Make sure that box is ticked, and continue.
- You’re back in Settings, with a note that your due dates now go to the Ring List calendar.
Ring List can only change the calendar it made. Your other calendars are never touched.
What goes to Google
- Every open task with a due date, Inbox tasks and subtasks too. Changes reach Google in a few seconds.
- A task due on a day is an all-day event. One due at a time lasts as long as the task does, or an hour.
- A repeating task shows only its next date.
- Finished tasks, Won’t do, habits and tasks in a plain list or the sample list don’t go. Nor do the days you plan tasks for.
In Google Calendar: change a task
Change an event in the Ring List calendar, and Ring List shows a note saying what changed, with Undo. It usually comes in seconds, and at most 15 minutes later. Undo puts Google’s event back too.
- Move it: the task’s due date moves.
- Rename it: the task’s words change. Its labels stay.
- Delete it: the due date comes off, and the task stays. Its note gets a line such as Due date of October 14 removed in Google Calendar.
- Add one: it becomes a task due then. One for today goes to the Inbox; others go to the list you choose under Events added in Google go to (the Inbox until you choose).
Changed on both sides at once? The later change wins.
Lists shared with you
Their tasks go to Google only if you tick Include lists shared with you.
Turn it off
Untick Keep your due dates in Google Calendar. Ring List asks what to do with the calendar in Google:
- Keep it: it stays, but stops changing.
- Delete it: it’s removed from Google. Your tasks keep their due dates.
When it stops by itself
If you delete the Ring List calendar in Google, or take away Ring List’s access there, it stops, and a line at the top of Calendar in Settings says why. Your tasks lose nothing. Tick the box again to start over (if Connect Google Calendar shows, press it first). See Calendar troubleshooting.
