Give a task a due date
Tap 📅 while editing a task and pick a day, or type the date at the end of its words, like “Call Mom tomorrow 4pm”.

Pick a day
- Tap or click the task to edit it.
- Tap 📅 in the editing tool bar.
- Tap a day, or Today, Tomorrow or In a week under the days.
On a computer you can also right-click the task and choose 📅 Due date…; a ● beside it means the task already has one. To change a date later, tap or click its badge.
Or type it
Say when at the end of the task’s words: “Call Mom tomorrow 4pm”, “Pay rent by the 15th”, “Dentist on Friday”. The words Ring List will read are underlined as you type. When you save, a note says what it read, with Keep as words if you meant them as words.
A few things to know:
- The date must come last, after at least one other word.
- Short day and month names need a capital: “Party Sat”, not “the dog sat”.
- With no year, it uses the closest one: in December, “Jan 5” is next January.
A time, and how long it lasts
On the 📅 tab, under the days:
- Time: 9 a.m., Noon, 3 p.m., 6 p.m., or type another. None takes it off.
- For: 15 min, 30 min, 1 hour, 2 hours or Other…. It’s grayed out until the task has a time. Press the lit one again to take it off.
Typed, that’s “Dentist Friday 3pm for an hour”.
What the badge says
- Red: overdue. A task due today at a time turns red once the time passes.
- Yellow: due today.
- Amber: due tomorrow.
- Gray outline: later. A weekday for the next few days (Fri), then the date (Nov 12).
- ↻ after it: the task repeats.
Take it off
Open the 📅 tab and tap Remove due date. Changed your mind? ↶ at the top of the list brings it back.
