Ring Lists, your home page

Each of your lists is a ring on Ring Lists. Tap one to open it, the + circle to start a list, and hold or right-click a ring for its menu.

Each list is a ring that fills as you finish its tasks. A badge such as 1 today means something is due; it turns red when something is late.

The first two rings are Today’s Plan and All Lists, which comes with your first list of your own. Tap or click any ring to open it, and ‹ at the top left brings you back.

Start a list

1. Tap or click the dashed + circle.
2. Type the list’s name and press Enter.

The new list opens with a section called To do, ready for its first task.

Rename, reorder or delete a list

• Rename: open the list, tap or click its name at the top, type the new one and press Enter.
• Reorder: on a phone, hold a ring for a moment, then drag it. On a computer, drag it.
• Delete: choose Delete list in the ring’s menu, or on a computer point at the ring and click the ✕ at its top right. It asks first, and Undo in the note afterwards brings the whole list back.

The ring’s menu

On a phone, hold the ring for a moment, then let go without moving. On a computer, right-click it.

• Make it a plain list: for things rather than things to do. Not in the sample list’s menu.
• Share…: invite someone to the list.
• Turn on notifications: shown only when notifications are on in Settings.
• Move to a group: put the ring under a heading such as Work or Home (below).
• Select: pick several rings to change or delete together.
• Search within list…: open the list with its search box ready.
• Download full backup or Download clean Markdown: save the list as a file.
• Delete list: not shown for a list someone shared with you.

Groups

Move to a group › New group… puts the ring under a heading; other rings can join it. Tap the heading to fold the group. Hold or right-click it to Rename… or Ungroup it (its lists stay). You can also start a group, and drag lists into it, in the sidebar.

Change the background

Hold an empty part of Ring Lists, such as the title, then let go; on a computer, right-click it. Choose Default Background, Night Sky or Andromeda, for that device only.
