See a list another way
The view button, first in the tool bar, shows the same tasks in other ways: by priority, by due date, on a calendar, or what you’ve finished.
Tap or click the view button, the first button in the tool bar, and pick a view. ● marks the one you’re in. Each list remembers its own view.
The views
- Full List: the list as you made it, with its sections. The only view where you add tasks and drag them into order.
- Top Priorities: 🚩 flagged tasks, then !!!, !! and !, plus any task with no mark that’s overdue or due by tomorrow. With more than ten, the first ten are under Top 10.
- Urgent & Important: every task in four boxes, from Do first to Later. See Urgent & Important.
- What’s Due: every task with a due date, a day at a time, late ones at the top. Drag a task onto another of the next seven days to move its date.
- Calendar: tasks with a due date or a planned day, by month, week or day. Drag a task to another day to move it.
- Waiting On: every task you’re waiting on someone for, the longest wait first.
- Logbook: your finished tasks, the newest first, with a chart of how many you finished. Untick one to bring it back.
- Snoozed: tasks you’ve snoozed, by the day they come back.
The other views don’t show sections, but you can still tick tasks off, edit them, and change their priority and labels.
To see where a task lives, open its menu: on a phone, edit the task and tap ⋯; on a computer, right-click it. The top line says where it is. Tap or click it to go there, and ‹ to come back.
Show less or more
Two checkboxes sit at the top of a list’s page:
- Important only shows just the !!!, !! and ! tasks. A flagged or frog task without a ! is hidden too.
- Show finished shows the tasks you’ve ticked off. It starts off, and while it’s off a section with nothing left to do is hidden.
Each list remembers both, on all your devices.
