Import from Google Keep
Export your notes with Google Takeout, then choose the .zip file in Ring List. Bring them in as one list, a list for each label, or a list for each note.

In Google Takeout
- Open Google Takeout and sign in with the Google account your notes are in.
- Tap or click Deselect all, so only your notes are exported.
- Scroll down and check Keep.
- At the bottom, tap or click Next step.
- Choose Send download link via email, Export once and .zip, then tap or click Create export.
- When Google’s email comes, open it and download the
.zipfile. Don’t unzip it.
In Ring List
- On Ring Lists, tap or click the + circle, then import.
- Under From, choose Google Keep.
- Tap or click Choose the .zip file and pick the file from Google.
- Choose how to bring the notes in (below), then tap or click Import 12 notes (with your own count).
Bring them in as
- One list: one list, with a section for each note. Tidy when you have lots of small notes.
- A list for each label: a list for each of your Keep labels, its notes as sections.
- A list for each note: a ring for each note, in a group. Good when each note is a list of its own, like Groceries or Packing.
Include
- Archived notes: off at first. Tick it to bring them too, in a list or group of their own.
- Checked items: on at first. They come in as finished tasks.
- Pictures: they come in under their notes, made smaller. They arrive one by one after the lists, so keep Ring List open until the message says they’re all in.
Good to know
- A checklist’s items become tasks. A note’s words go under its section or list.
- Indented items come in flat: Keep’s export doesn’t say which were indented.
- Reminders, and who a note was shared with, don’t come over.
Notes that are lists of things
A shopping list or a packing list isn’t things to do. Make it a plain list: it earns no Light and stays out of Today’s Plan. With AI on, ✨ may suggest which of the new lists to make plain, with Review, and changes nothing until you say so.
