How a list is sorted

In each section, flagged tasks come first, then !!!, !!, !, no mark and ↓. Finished tasks go last. Drag to order tasks of the same priority.

Ring List puts the tasks of each section in this order:

1. 🚩 Flagged tasks
2. !!!
3. !!
4. !
5. Tasks with no mark
6. ↓
7. Finished tasks, when Show finished is on

Subtasks under a task are sorted the same way.

A task moves to its place when you add it, change its priority, or tick it off. If that’s off the screen, the list scrolls to it.

What you can move by hand

You choose the order of tasks with the same priority: drag one up or down among them. Drop it among tasks of another priority and it still goes where its priority puts it.

To move a task higher, give it a higher priority.

What doesn’t change the order

Due dates and labels other than 🚩 Flagged leave a list’s order as it is. They do count in other views: Top Priorities and What’s Due put tasks due soon first, and sort by labels too.
