Calendar troubleshooting

Events missing from Today’s Plan, changes slow to arrive, due dates twice in Google, or two-way sync stopped: what to check, and how to fix it.

Why don’t my events show in Today’s Plan?

  • A Google calendar other than your main one? Tick it under Show in Today’s Plan: in Settings › Plan. Only your main calendar shows at first.
  • Declined events never show.
  • A calendar added by its address? Look at its name in Settings › Plan. If it says couldn’t be read on a date, Ring List can’t reach it. Check it’s still published (Outlook) or public (iCloud), or Remove it and add it again.
  • Ring List says “That address couldn’t be read as a calendar”? Copy the whole address again. From Outlook, use the ICS link, not the HTML one.

Why is a change slow to arrive?

  • Google Calendar, connected: Today’s Plan reads it again when you open it, at most every ten minutes.
  • Outlook, iCloud and others added by address: each app publishes its changes on its own schedule. It can take a few hours.
  • Your due dates through the private link: your calendar app decides when to look. Google Calendar can take a day.
  • Two-way sync with Google: a few seconds to Google, and up to 15 minutes back.

Why does every due date show twice in Google Calendar?

You have both two-way sync and the private link in Google, so you have two Ring List calendars, and Settings says so under Keep your due dates in Google Calendar. Keep two-way sync (the Ring List under My calendars) and remove the link’s, under Other calendars (called Ring List (view only), or Ring List if you added it before November 2026): in Google Calendar on a computer, open Settings, click that calendar on the left, then Remove calendar › Unsubscribe.

Why did two-way sync stop?

A line at the top of Calendar in Settings › Plan says why:

  • The Ring List calendar was deleted in Google. Tick Keep your due dates in Google Calendar to make a new one.
  • Ring List lost its access. Tick the box again, or first press Connect Google Calendar if it shows.

Your tasks keep their due dates either way.

Turning it on brought the note Google didn’t give Ring List what it needs? The box on Google’s page was unticked. Tick Keep your due dates in Google Calendar again, and leave that box ticked.

How do I take away Ring List’s access at Google?

Press Disconnect in Settings › Plan: it gives up the access at Google for you. If you can’t open Ring List:

  1. Go to myaccount.google.com/linkedapps and choose Access to your Google Account.
  2. Choose Ring List, then See details.
  3. Press Remove access, then Confirm.

The Ring List calendar stays in Google as it was. Delete it there if you no longer want it.
