How Today’s Plan works
Today’s Plan is a short list of what you’ll do today, picked from all your lists. The tasks stay in their own lists; the plan points at them.
Today’s Plan is where you pick what you’ll do today, from any of your lists, and see it through. Each task stays in its own list: the plan only points at it, so ticking it off in either place finishes it in both.
Open it from the first ring on Ring Lists, Today’s Plan ☀️. From any other page, open the sidebar with the button at the top left and choose Today’s Plan ☀️.
What’s on the page
From the top:
- Today’s brief: with AI on, a few lines from Claude about the day. See Let Ring List plan your day.
- Your calendar’s events for today, in gray. They can’t be ticked off. Connect a calendar to see them.
- Habits: your habits to check in on today.
- Planning for today: the plan itself, what you mean to finish today. It reads The plan for today once you tap Ready. See Make your plan for today.
- If there’s time: tasks to do if the plan is done, without promising to. See If there’s time.
Under them, Good options for the plan has what to pick from, each part only when it has something in it:
- For the next plan (gets added automatically): tasks planned for tomorrow. See Plan ahead.
- Coming up: tasks planned for later days.
- Time to start: a task that takes several days, on the day it should start.
- From your last plan: what was left unfinished in an earlier plan. See what happens overnight.
- Top 10: your ten most important open tasks, from all your lists.
Press + beside a task to put it in today’s plan. Tasks under Coming up have only −: they join the plan on their day.
Good to know
- The plan’s day starts at 3 a.m., not midnight. At 1 a.m. you’re still in yesterday’s plan.
- Tasks you jot down with + at the top of the page are Inbox tasks: they belong to no list.
- Your plan is yours alone, even for tasks in a list you share.
