Import from TickTick
Make a backup on TickTick’s website, a .csv file with all your lists, then choose it in Ring List’s Import card.
Before you start
TickTick’s phone apps can’t make a backup. Use TickTick’s website, ticktick.com, in a browser, on a computer if you can.
In TickTick
- Go to ticktick.com and sign in.
- Click your picture at the top left, then Settings.
- Choose Account, then Backup & Import.
- Click Generate Backup. A
.csvfile downloads, with all your lists in it.
Make the backup right before you import: it holds your lists as they are at that moment. Don’t open and save it in a spreadsheet first, which can change it.
In Ring List
- On Ring Lists, tap or click the + circle, then import.
- Under From, choose TickTick.
- Tap or click Choose the .csv file and pick the backup.
Each TickTick list becomes a list. A list that was in a folder goes in a group with the folder’s name.
What comes over
- Kanban columns, as sections. Subtasks and checklist items, as subtasks.
- Each task’s description, as its note. A TickTick note becomes a section, with its words under it.
- Due dates, times, repeats and reminders.
- Tags, as labels.
- Finished tasks, finished. Won’t Do tasks, as Won’t do.
- A start date still to come: the task is snoozed until then.
- Priorities, one step lower: high as !!, medium as !, low as ↓.
What doesn’t
- Pictures and files: the backup doesn’t have them. Words in the task say where one was.
- Habits, focus records and comments.
- A column with no tasks in it.
- A repeat Ring List doesn’t have, such as every 2 hours, stays in the task’s note on a line starting “From TickTick:”. See After an import.
