Set a reminder
Get a nudge at a day and time, or a while before a task is due. Open ⋯ › 🔔 Remind me… and pick when.

Set one
On a phone
- Tap the task to edit it.
- Tap ⋯, then 🔔 Remind me….
- Choose when.
On a computer
- Right-click the task and choose 🔔 Remind me….
- Choose when.
The choices depend on the task:
- Due at a time: When it’s due, 15 min before, 1 hour before, The day before, at 9 a.m.
- Due on a day: On the day, at 9 a.m., The day before, at 9 a.m.
- Any task: In an hour, This evening, Tomorrow morning, or tap a day in the calendar, with a time from the Time row.
- A habit or a repeating task: Every time it’s due, at…, then a time.
Each choice says when it would come. A reminder that follows the due date moves when the date moves.
A task can have up to five. The tab lists the ones it has, each with Turn off, and Add another. The task shows 🔔 and when the next one comes; tap it to see them all.
When it comes
A banner at the top of Ring List shows the task’s words, with:
- Show me: opens the task’s list, at the task.
- In 10 min: reminds you again in ten minutes.
- ✕: puts the reminder away.
For a habit or a repeating task, Done takes the place of In 10 min: it checks the habit in, or ticks the task off.
With Ring List closed
- With notifications on, the reminder arrives as a notification on your phone or computer. See Turn on notifications.
- With no device that can be notified, it comes as an email, to the address you sign in with. Its link opens the task’s list. See Reminders by email.
If neither reached you, a reminder for a day and time shows the next time you open Ring List, marked Missed:.
On a shared list
A reminder on a shared list goes to everyone who shares it: as a notification, or by email to someone with no device that can be notified. Each person’s own Email me reminders setting decides theirs.
Take one off
Open 🔔 Remind me… again (a ● beside it means the task has a reminder) and tap Turn off beside it. Ticking a task off removes its reminders.
