The sidebar

The sidebar lists every page, to go straight to one. Open it with the button at the top left and pick Today’s Plan, a view of All Lists or a list.

Open it and pick a page

1. Press the sidebar button at the top left of any page. It looks like a small window with a strip down its left side.
2. Tap a row, or click it, to go there. ‹ then brings you back.

On a phone the sidebar slides in over the page, and closes when you pick. To close it without picking, swipe it to the left or tap beside it.

What’s in it

• Today’s Plan ☀️, with its Inbox under it and how many tasks are waiting there.
• All Lists, with its views under it: Search All, Top Priorities, Logbook and the rest. Your saved searches are under Search All.
• Pinned 📌, with the sections you pinned.
• Ring Lists 🏠, then each of your lists, with a small ring that fills as the list gets done. Lists in a group are under the group’s name.

▸ beside a row shows what’s under it, and ▾ folds it away again. All Lists starts folded. A list’s ▸ shows its sections: pick one to open the list at that section.

What you fold stays folded on that device.

Keep it open on a computer

In a wide window the sidebar stays open down the left side, beside the page, until you press its button again. Ring List remembers which you chose.

To make it wider or narrower, drag its right edge. Double-click the edge to put it back.

In a narrower window it slides in over the page, as on a phone. Click beside it, or press Esc, to close it.

While it’s open beside the page, you can drag a task onto it to move the task there.

Pin a section

A section you use a lot can have a row of its own under Pinned 📌.

To take it out again, tap or click the 📌 after the section’s title, or choose 📌 Unpin section in the same menu. A small sound plays, and the note has Undo if that was a mistake.
