Waiting on someone
Mark a task ⏳ when it’s in someone else’s hands. It counts the days you’ve waited, and the Waiting On view shows the longest waits first.

Mark a task waiting
On a phone
Tap the task to edit it, tap ⋯, then ⏳ Waiting on someone.
On a computer
Right-click the task and choose ⏳ Waiting on someone.
The task gets a ⏳. You can also type @waiting anywhere in its words.
How long you’ve waited
From the next day, the ⏳ shows how long: 3d for three days, 2w for two weeks, 3mo for three months. After a week it turns amber: time for a nudge. On a computer, point at it for the day it started.
Started waiting earlier than today? Edit the task and tap the age beside its ⏳ (today on the first day). Pick the day, or Yesterday or A week ago.
See everything you’re waiting on
Choose Waiting On in the view menu, the first button in the row at the top of a list. It has every waiting task in the list, the longest wait first. In All Lists, it has them from all your lists.
When it’s no longer waiting
- Got what you needed, and it’s done? Tick it off as usual. It leaves the Waiting On view.
- Your turn again? Choose ⏳ Waiting on someone once more to take the ⏳ off. The task stays in its list, and the count starts over next time.
