Ring List Help Open Ring List

Import from Any.do

Any.do shares one list at a time as a file, and emails your finished tasks. Pick those files with From set to Any.do, and each list comes over.

Any.do has no backup you can make yourself, so you bring your lists out in pieces. Pick the way that fits what you want to keep.

Get your lists out of Any.do

Your open lists, one at a time, in Any.do’s phone app:

  1. Open the list, tap ⋮ at the top right, then the export icon.
  2. Save the file: on an iPhone, Save to Files; on Android, to Drive or Files.
  3. Do the same for each list.

Your finished tasks, in Any.do on the web or a computer: open Settings, then Archived Tasks, and click the export icon. Any.do emails you a .zip.

A board, with a Family or Workspace plan: its ⋯ menu, then Print and Export, then CSV.

Everything at once: ask Any.do’s support for a copy of your data. If they send a .json file, that one file brings every list, with the most in it.

Bring it into Ring List

  1. On Ring Lists, tap or click the dashed + circle, then import.
  2. Set From to Any.do.
  3. Tap or click Choose the .txt, .csv or .json files and pick them. Several at once is fine.

What comes over

  • A shared list: a list named after it, a task to a line. Indented tasks are subtasks, ticked ones are finished, headings are sections, and a date after a task’s words is its due date. Someday’s tasks are 🏝️ Someday.
  • A .csv or the emailed .zip: each list in it, in a group called Any.do, with notes, due dates and times, priorities, repeats, tags, subtasks and finished tasks.
  • A .json from support: every list, in the Any.do group, with all of the above, and alerts still to come as reminders.

Places, attachments, and who a list is shared with don’t come over. Only the .json has reminders. Anything Ring List can’t read is kept in the task’s note, on a line starting “From Any.do:”.
