Arrange lists in the sidebar
In the sidebar you can start a list or a group, reorder your lists, move a list into a group, and move a section to another place or another list.
The sidebar lists your lists in the same order as Ring Lists. Change it in one and it changes in the other.
Open a row’s menu
On a phone, hold the row for a moment, then let go. On a computer, right-click it.
| Row | Its menu |
|---|---|
| A list | The ring’s menu, such as Search within list… and Delete list |
| A group’s name | Rename…, New list, Make its children plain lists, Ungroup, Delete group and its lists… |
| Ring Lists 🏠 | New list and New group |
Start a list or a group
- Open the menu of Ring Lists 🏠, or of a group’s name to start the list in that group.
- Choose New list or New group.
- Type its name in the box that appears, and press Enter or tap or click anywhere else.
Esc, or leaving the box empty, makes nothing. A new list opens, ready for its first task. A new group stays empty until you put a list in it.
Drag to rearrange
On a computer, press a row and drag it within the sidebar. A line shows where it will land.
| Drag | To | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| A list | Between two lists | It moves there, into that group if they’re in one |
| A list | A group’s name | It joins that group |
| A list | Ring Lists 🏠 | It leaves its group |
| A group’s name | Above or below another group | The groups change places |
| A section | Between two sections | It moves there, with its tasks |
| A section | Another list | It moves to the end of that list |
| A section | Pinned 📌 | It’s pinned |
To see a list’s sections, press its ▸. Hold what you’re dragging over a folded list or group and it opens.
A note says what moved, with Undo. Esc while dragging puts it back.
