After an import

Check what came in, find what didn’t, or take the whole import back with Undo in the message, which lasts 10 seconds.

Take it back

The message at the bottom after an import has Undo. It takes away every list the import made, and any groups it made. A list you’ve already changed stays.

Undo is only in that message, which lasts 10 seconds. After that, delete the lists yourself:

On a phone

One list: on Ring Lists, hold its ring until the phone buzzes, let go without moving, and choose Delete list.
A group the import made: hold the group’s name until its menu opens, and choose Delete group and its 12 lists… (with your own count).

On a computer

One list: on Ring Lists, point at its ring and click the ✕ at its top right.
A group the import made: right-click the group’s name and choose Delete group and its 12 lists… (with your own count).

Both ask first, and Undo in the message after brings the lists back.

What a “From Todoist:” line means

When the other app had something Ring List has no place for, such as a repeat it doesn’t have, it isn’t thrown away. It’s kept in the task’s note, on a line starting with the app’s name, such as “From Todoist: every full moon” or “From TickTick: repeats every 2 hours”.

To see them all, tap or click Show in the message (it’s there when the lines come from one app): it lists every task with such a line. Later, search for “From Todoist” (or your app’s name) in Search All. Set the date or repeat yourself if you want, then delete the line.

Good to know

Tags became labels. Your tags from the other app are now labels, made for you if you didn’t have them. A tag named like one of Ring List’s own, such as @someday, joins that one.
Importing twice makes copies. The same file imported again makes the lists again, side by side with the same names. Delete one set.
Check your repeating tasks. Some apps’ files don’t say when a repeat is next, so check its date.
