Lists and tasks

Make lists, fill them with tasks, and keep them tidy.

Ring Lists, your home pageEach of your lists is a ring on Ring Lists. Tap one to open it, the + circle to start a list, and hold or right-click a ring for its menu.Add a taskTap or click the + on a section’s title, type the task and press Enter. Enter again starts the next one, so you can add several in a row.Edit a taskTap or click a task’s words to change them. Enter or tapping away saves, Esc cancels, and the buttons above the list do the rest.Finish or delete a taskSwipe a task right to finish it and left to delete it. On a computer, use its checkbox and its ✕. Undo brings either back.Sections and subsectionsSections split a list into parts, and a section can hold subsections. Add, rename, fold, color, move or delete them from their titles.SubtasksA subtask sits indented under another task, for the steps of something bigger. Drag a task a little to the right to make it one.Add a noteA note holds details that aren’t tasks: under a task, under a section’s title, or under the list’s own title. Tap the note to change it.Pictures, files and linksPut a photo, a file or a link under a task. Tap a picture to see it full-screen; a file or link opens in a new tab.Move a taskDrag a task to a new place, or use Move to a section… or Move to a list… in its menu. Its subtasks, note and attachments go with it.Drag a task to the sidebarOn a computer, drag a task onto a list, a section or Today’s Plan in the sidebar to send it there. It’s the quick way to sort your Inbox.Arrange lists in the sidebarIn the sidebar you can start a list or a group, reorder your lists, move a list into a group, and move a section to another place or another list.Undo and redoChanged something by mistake? Press Undo in the note at the bottom, or the undo arrow at the top of the list. Redo puts the change back.Won’t doClose a task you’ve decided not to do, without calling it finished. A repeating task can skip this time instead.Plain listsA plain list is a list of things, not things to do: groceries, packing, books to read. Its tasks earn no Light and stay out of Today’s Plan.
